Rudbeckia Kokardas

A giant flowered rudbeckia from seed! Highly praised in recent RHS garden trials, Rudbeckia ‘Kokardas’ forms short plants, only 40cm high, that each produce over 20 huge flowers up to 14cm across. The bi-coloured blooms are golden yellow with a brown halo surrounding the dark eye. Perfect for beds, borders and containers, they will flower right up until the first frosts. Excellent weather tolerance.

Sowing
Sow in trays, pots, etc of good seed compost in a propagator or warm place to maintain an optimum temperature of 70-75F (20-25C). Cover the seeds lightly with 3mm (1?8″) sieved compost as light assists germination. Sowing Time: February to May. Germination usually takes 7-21 days.
Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out when all risk of frost has passed 30cm (12in) apart in full sun.
