Apple (Malus) Blenheim Orange
Blenheim Orange is a well known English heritage apple.
It’s fruit is yellow-gold with orange flush and a few broad, broken red stripes.
When baked it keeps it’s shape, flavour and colour and will produce a thick puree.
Admirable in Tarte Tatin, French Apple Tart and also an excellent apple to serve with a cheese board.
Also eats and keeps very well into the New Year.
An old favourite!
Description: Flesh is creamy white, somewhat coarse-textured and rather dry. Nutty, aromatic flavour and a sweet crumbly texture.
