A graceful tree of spreading habit bearing masses of pendulous, semi-double, light pink flowers during April. The mid green leaves turn orange-red in autumn, making it an outstanding tree for all gardens.
Hybrid between P. sargentii and a form of P. x subhirtella, released from Knap Hill Nurseries in 1952. Received the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit in 1961.
Best grown in well-drained soil, in full sun to achieve the best autumn colour. Will tolerate most soil types including chalk, and clay.
