Morning Glory Split Second
Morning Glory Split Second One of the easiest annual climbers for creating a screen of summer colour. The unusual blooms of Ipomoea ‘Split Second Double’ take the genus to another level. Tassled and fancy, this fabulous Morning Glory vine looks most unlike traditional Ipomoea plants you may be familiar with! Heart-shaped foliage and large peony blooms born on self-attaching vines create a fantastic summer screen.

How to Sow
Sow March to April. Soak seeds overnight in tepid water before sowing. Sow seed, 6mm (1/8in) deep in pots or trays of soil-based potting mix and cover seeds with a layer of compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator or seal container in a polythene bag and put in a warm place, and keep at a temperature between 20-25C (68-77F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 7-30 days. When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12in) apart.
